Die Heinzels – Neue Mützen, neue Mission returns to the little helpers' world with an adventure about the meeting of tradition and modern ideas. Its charm comes from lively characters and the care in its animated surroundings.
Curious Helvi ventures into the human world and meets another group of Heinzels, equipped with modern technology and a different attitude to life. Their encounter challenges her expectations. Inspector Lanski and her tracking cat add danger to the adventure.
Ute von Münchow-Pohl keeps the story accessible to children while leaving room for adults to enjoy its detail. The Cologne setting has personality, and the varied characters and gadgets give the animation energy.
Jella Haase makes Helvi lively and likable in the German voice cast. Annette Frier brings both seriousness and humor to Lanski. The other voices help the new characters feel distinct. Bright colors, fluid movement and dynamic chases strengthen the visual appeal.
The story handles friendship, solidarity and prejudice in a child-friendly way. Openness to change becomes useful through the characters' cooperation rather than only a stated message. The music is catchy without becoming intrusive.
For me, this is a successful sequel with wit and a warmly told story. Its carefully designed world and energetic adventure make it enjoyable family entertainment while retaining the first film's appeal.
