Netflix has released the official trailer for You, Me, Us, Daniele Luchetti's new romantic comedy starring Elio Germano and Maria Chiara Giannetta. The film premiered at the Rome Film Fest on October 18, outside competition in the Grand Public section. Its Netflix release is scheduled for October 29.
Germano plays Simone, a man who values rules and family traditions. Giannetta plays Lucia, whose independence includes a resistance to conventional expectations about motherhood. Their relationship faces a new test when they pursue adoption, exposing differences that affection alone has not settled.
The film's Italian title is Noi, un po' meglio. Rome's festival programme also includes a screening at the women's prison Rebibbia Germana Stefanini on October 19 at 2 p.m. That event forms part of the festival's programme beyond its main cinema venues.
Rome's twenty-first edition groups its films across an international competition and several noncompetitive sections. You, Me, Us arrives there as a relationship comedy, with its Netflix launch following later this month. The trailer introduces the couple's opposing personalities and the adoption that pushes those differences into the open.
