The Trauma Code Confirms Seasons 2 and 3, With Ju Ji-hoon Returning

Netflix has confirmed production on two further seasons of the Korean medical drama. Lee Do-yun returns to direct and write.

Netflix has confirmed production on seasons two and three of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. Ju Ji-hoon returns as surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk, alongside Choo Young-woo as his protégé Yang Jae-won. Director Lee Do-yun is also returning and will write the new seasons. Premiere dates have not been announced.

Yoon Kyung-ho and Jeong Jae-kwang return as Han Yu-rim and anesthesiologist Park Gyeong-won. Jeong Ye-in joins as nurse Cheon Jang-mi. The new episodes will follow the team confronting more difficult emergencies while Kang-hyuk works to build a more stable trauma-care system.

The first season introduced a surgeon with years of experience in war zones whose methods clash with the hospital he is trying to improve. Its eight episodes combine rescues, medical cases and the task of turning reluctant colleagues into an effective unit. The series adapts the webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour.

That established combination of action and teamwork now has two seasons to develop. Rather than changing the central setup, Netflix's announcement brings back the surgeon, his protégé and key members of the hospital team.
