The Greatest Sets November 4 Premiere for Its Muhammad Ali Story

Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for its eight-part drama, with Jaalen Best playing the boxing champion.

Prime Video has released the trailer for The Greatest and set November 4 for the worldwide premiere. All eight episodes of the Muhammad Ali drama will arrive together. Jaalen Best plays the boxer, with Lonnie Ali among the executive producers.

Amazon describes the project as the first authorized scripted series about Ali’s life. Its announced focus extends beyond famous victories and defeats to family relationships and the person outside the ring. Ben Watkins serves as creator and showrunner through Blue Monday Productions, while Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society is among the production companies.

The cast includes Omari Hardwick as Cassius Clay Sr., Dana Gourrier as Odessa Clay, Amin Joseph as Sonny Liston, Michael Ealy as Malcolm X and Giovanni Ribisi as Angelo Dundee. Those roles indicate the range of sporting and personal relationships the series is drawing on, rather than presenting Ali’s life solely through championship bouts.

The official announcement includes the trailer, with a first look at Best’s portrayal before the November launch.
