Netflix has released the trailer for the third and final season of The Empress. Devrim Lingnau Islamoğlu and Philip Froissant return as Elisabeth and Franz; the new season premieres worldwide on November 12.
The drama resumes after the Sardinian War. Franz’s return and the strain on the imperial marriage lead Elisabeth away from Vienna, where she encounters Count Andrássy, played by Dejan Bućin.
The date was already announced in September. This week’s update is the trailer and new artwork, rather than a newly discovered release date. Katharina Eyssen remains showrunner; Florian Cossen and Julia Langhof direct the Sommerhaus production, filmed in Bavaria, the Czech Republic and Spain.
