Skydance Names Its Leadership for Paramount and Warner Bros.

Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein take charge of the film business. James Gunn and Peter Safran remain at DC Studios.

David Ellison has named the leadership team for Skydance Corp., the company being formed through the Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger. According to Variety, Ellison will serve as chairman and chief executive alongside co-chief executive Ynon Kreiz, the former head of Mattel. The announcement identifies who will lead the combined film, television and streaming businesses.

Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein, previously co-chairs of Paramount Pictures, will head the film operation. Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group leaders Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca are not joining the new company. At DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran will continue as co-heads. The appointments therefore combine a change at the top of the wider film business with continuity at DC.

The television and streaming divisions also have named leaders. George Cheeks becomes co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance TV. Casey Bloys, who has led HBO and HBO Max, takes the corresponding content leadership role at Skydance’s direct-to-consumer streaming operation. JB Perrette will hold co-chair and chief business officer positions across both television and streaming.

The announcement separately names senior news executives. Mark Thompson continues to run CNN, while Bari Weiss is listed as editor-in-chief of CBS News. Those roles sit alongside the entertainment appointments rather than replacing them.

Kreiz’s stated priorities include bringing the streaming operation together, developing content and maintaining the linear television business. The structure places the two major film studios, television networks and streaming divisions under Ellison and Kreiz, while assigning their individual content operations to the named executives.

The company’s shares are scheduled to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on October 6 under the symbol SKYD. The leadership announcement does not include a new film or series slate.
