Apple has released the first images from Prodigies and set its premiere for February 10, 2027. Will Sharpe and Ayo Edebiri lead the romantic comedy, which will open with two episodes. The remaining instalments follow weekly through March 17. The complete season runs to seven episodes, giving the relationship story a defined release schedule from the outset.
Sharpe plays Ren and Edebiri plays Didi, two former child prodigies now in their thirties. They have spent years carrying expectations attached to their early promise. The series asks what happens when exceptional children become adults whose lives do not necessarily match those predictions. Their relationship is part of that question, rather than a separate romance dropped into the background.
The story spans nine years and moves between London, Tokyo and Virginia. Sharpe created, wrote and directed the series, as well as taking the lead role. Edebiri is also an executive producer. John Malkovich, Tobias Menzies, Sophia Di Martino, Rina Sawayama, Reece Shearsmith, Meera Syal and Andrene Ward-Hammond are among the supporting cast announced by Apple.
SISTER produces the series, with Jane Featherstone, Naomi de Pear and Katie Carpenter among its executive producers. Claire Jones is the producer. De Pear previously developed and produced Sharpe's Flowers and worked on its second season at SISTER, providing an earlier collaboration behind this new project. The newly released material is a first look at the series; Apple's announcement establishes its cast, premise and premiere plan.
