Masterplan has arrived on Prime Video. Amazon confirmed the film’s worldwide streaming launch in its October 16 update, bringing Stanley Tucci’s latest caper to the service after the release date was announced at Prime Video Presents Italia in July.
Tucci plays a veteran thief who recruits two young specialists for a raid on the Mona Lisa. Chiara, played by Simona Tabasco, brings cybercrime expertise; Victor Belmondo’s Jay handles explosives. Their employer then delivers an inconvenient piece of family history: the recruits are siblings, and he is their father. Cooperation suddenly involves rather more than dividing up the technical jobs.
Thomas Vincent directs the English-language French-Italian production. He also wrote the screenplay with David Wolstencroft, whose credits include Spooks. The story is credited to Giacomo Durzi, Alessandro Fabbri, Alberto Vignati, Wolstencroft and Vincent. Gaumont and Amazon MGM Studios co-produced the film, which was shot in France and Italy.
The setup places two familiar sources of friction in the same room: a precision robbery and a family that has never learned to work together. Amazon lists the release in more than 240 countries and territories.
