Forge Films Launches Its Slate With Viking Horror Lost in Hel

A new genre company introduces a world still in development.

Forge Films Company is presenting Lost in Hel, a Viking horror project, as part of its opening slate. Deadline reports that Antoine Disle, Orso Vesperini and Olivier Compere established the company over the summer. Its remit spans film, television and gaming, with a focus on fantasy, science fiction and horror.

The project’s official page places a shipwrecked clan on an unfamiliar island. Jarl Alvar and a Christian queen must form an uneasy alliance as Norse mythology meets cosmic horror. That is the premise being developed, rather than evidence of a finished series.

Breathe in Hel serves as a short proof of concept for the larger world. Forge’s own production update describes that episode’s shoot in New Zealand and Australia, with Nik Kacevski directing. The company lists the main project as in development; a broadcaster and premiere date have not been announced.
