The US premiere is on the October calendar
Peacock’s US October calendar, updated September 30, lists Crystal Lake for October 15, 2026, with all eight episodes. The premiere date had been confirmed before this calendar update.
Our takeSo this is not a surprise date announcement. What the calendar now makes clear is that Peacock lists the entire season for the same day. Until October 15, it remains an upcoming premiere, not a show already available to watch.
Pam Voorhees takes centre stage
Crystal Lake is a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise. Linda Cardellini plays Pam Voorhees, mother of young Jason, who drowned. Callum Vinson plays young Jason; Brad Caleb Kane is the creator, writer and showrunner of the Peacock and A24 series.
Our takeFocusing on Pam makes this a look back at the franchise’s earlier story rather than another film sequel.
