Bad Fairies Adds Kylie Minogue, Jonathan Groff and Catherine Tate

Cynthia Erivo revealed three more voices for Warner Bros. and Locksmith’s animated musical at her Hollywood Bowl concert.

Kylie Minogue, Jonathan Groff and Catherine Tate have joined the voice cast of Bad Fairies, the animated musical comedy from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation. Cynthia Erivo revealed the additions at her October 15 Hollywood Bowl concert, and the production announced the roles the following day. Minogue voices Clowder, the Cat Witch; Groff plays Robin Goodfellow; Tate is the Fairy Gothmother.

Erivo leads the film as Jayne Staplegun. At the concert, an orchestral piece based on Jayne’s song Hard to Believe introduced the second half of the show before Erivo presented the new cast members. The audience heard an orchestral arrangement from the film alongside the casting news.

The announced cast also includes Ncuti Gatwa as Butterwort, Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Fei Chang, James Acaster as Stickers and Dee Bradley Baker as Groundbeef. Bad Fairies follows a group of rule-breaking fairies in contemporary London. Megan Nicole Dong directs the feature, with original songs by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss and a score by Isabella Summers, according to the studio’s release.

The Warner Bros. and Locksmith announcement lists a theatrical release on May 21, 2027. With a cat witch, Robin Goodfellow and a Fairy Gothmother joining Jayne Staplegun, the voice cast already suggests the film’s playful approach to fairy-tale roles.
