Bill Murray is taking a golf trip across Ireland in A Course Called Ireland, whose official trailer has now been released. The six-part travel series premieres on October 25. Each episode runs for thirty minutes, combining the sport with a journey through the country rather than presenting Murray in a fictional film role or a conventional tournament broadcast.
Murray travels with writer Tom Coyne, whose book A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee provides the basis for the project. Their route takes in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The premise links rounds of golf with encounters and experiences along the way, keeping the journey itself alongside the courses.
The guests include Murray's brothers Joel and John, as well as Chris O'Dowd, Joanne McNally and Jason Kelce. Chris Cottam directs the series. Casey Scharf and Morgan Roberts are its showrunners, with Skydance Sports and Stellify involved in production. The announced line-up brings actors, comedy and sport into the same travel format rather than limiting it to professional golfers.
The release arrangements vary by territory. Paramount+ has announced the October launch globally except in the UK and Latin America. In the UK, the programme is headed to BBC Two, BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer. Those plans are distinct from the Paramount+ launch, so the streaming announcement should not be read as an identical platform rollout everywhere.
